Uncircumcised In the Heart

Jeremiah 9:25-26** “Behold, the days are coming.” Says the Lord, “that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised – …..For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

The pain of Jeremiah, and later the agony of God’s son, the Messiah Christ Jesus, who wept over Jerusalem that killed prophets and would be the site of killing the Messiah, the Passover Lamb of God is shared. Even today many nations reject missionaries from the west because they don’t want our immorality and lax standards to infect their societies. Idolatry now is sophisticated and subtle but is alive and well in this world. The tendency to worship something or someone of our on making is ingrained in the hearts of the entire world.

The pending siege and destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC is symbolic of what is happening in the world today as few repent of their wickedness of idol worship and greed. The greed is magnified by many churches that send out medallions of dead saints for large appealing donations. People are asked to pray meaningless prayers to worship the tiny statues or medallions in violation of God’s second commandment which He personally wrote two times in stone on Mount Sinai. (Exodus 20:4-6) **.Many people in this world worship in vain for much of the truth of the gospel is veiled to those who are perishing whose minds the god of this age (Satan) has blinded who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Mark 7:6-9**.He (Jesus) answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah (Isaiah 29:13) prophesy of you hypocrites (false assumption of virtue or religion). This people honor ME with their lips, but their heart is far from ME. And in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men….. All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your traditions”.

The tradition of the Pharisees and scribes which Rabbi Jesus addressed was not scriptural law such as washing hands. In today’s world, people mechanically obey regulations and believe certain doctrines. However we have developed traditions in most religions that affect our hands but will never touch the heart. Without showing our love for our Creator and love of neighbors as ourselves, we are worshiping the god of this world (Satan) instead of the one Invisible Living God.

For those who study history, the Roman General Pompey was intrigued when he conquered Jerusalem about 60 years before the birth of Christ. Unlike the rest of the Roman Empire where all other cultures worship statues, the Jewish people had no physical statue or image of God to worship. Pompey could not understand that this was the Invisible Living God. **.Hebrews 11:24-27 **.By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward (of eternal life). By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him (God and His son, Messiah Christ Jesus) who is INVISIBLE. **.The son of God came visibly to earth specifically to establish the new covenant of eliminating animal sacrifice for only a man without sin would be worthy as the everlasting Passover Lamb. Only the son of God was worthy since all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. **. In the ministry of Christ, He stated in: John 4:23-24**.But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  **.

The Greek of the New Testament is similar to ancient and Modern Greek which makes the varied translations easy for Satan to twist the Holy Word of God with deception. Cross reference to compare scripture with scripture with continuous self study is essential to understand the true theme of love which the Bible teaches. Mankind is led to worship in vain in a way that seems right to him. Proverbs 14:12 states: There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

In the ministry of Christ Jesus, He frequently spoke of the opposite of death. In Matthew 19:16-17, the road to eternal life is made simple. Now, behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal Life?” So He (Jesus) said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

The entire moral of this message is to love the eternal living invisible God of creation above all else. This simplifies the first four commandments written in stone by the invisible God. Note that it took three verses to instruct the children of Israel to NOT make carved images or likeness of anything in this world and NOT bow down or worship them.(Exodus 20:1-11). The six following commandments are simplified by loving your brother, neighbor, foreigner and enemy as yourself. (Exodus 20:12-17).

Sadly, man is brainwashed into following and keeping traditions of hatred and many others distractions as the world is blinded by the evil one. The evil god of this world continues his lies to turn away people from the Invisible Living God. Won’t you bow down to the living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and come into the light of your redeemer for eternal life? Ask Him to strengthen your body, mind and soul and guide you along the narrow road that leads into the safe and everlasting haven of the Kingdom of God. Isn’t it time to believe and learn truth in the teaching of God’s resurrected eternal son, the Messiah Christ Jesus? May the peace of our Lord be with all that turn from worshipping Satan and his demons?
