A Spirit of Renewed Life

Ephesians 1:5** (God). Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children (us) by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of His (Godís) will.

Adoption is a process which someone (us) from outside the family is made officially a part of the family of God. Generally, when a child is adopted into a family, the child becomes an officially and accepted member with all the privileges of any other child born of the same parents.

It is believed the Apostle Paul wrote this message to the Ephesians about 30 years after the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Ephesus was then a city of about 200,000 and was renowned for traders and silversmiths. The dominant language then was likely Greek but now it is a Turkish city called Selcuk. The Gentiles then addressed by Paul were essentially poor as beggars. Yet, as believers, they were deemed rich beyond measure in Jesus Christ. In the first 3 chapters, Paul described the contents of their heavenly bank account. Their heavenly bank account was immense as listed: 1. Adoption into the family of God. 2. Acceptance, 3. Redemption: 4. Forgiveness: 5. Wisdom: 6. Inheritance: 7. The seal of the Holy Spirit which includes eternal life, grace, citizenship and every wonderful spiritual blessing.

The adoption process calls for a fee to be paid. The death and resurrection of The Messiah, Christ Jesus made it possible for the adoption to take place. And the adoption fee was very high since Christ Jesus painfully shed his blood and gave his life to wash away our dirty rotten wicked sins. Sadly, few people on this earth today really appreciate being purchased from slavery or being redeemed from the debt of sin to set us free by the atonement of the Lamb of God, the Messiah Christ Jesus. Most of the world rather continues to worship the God of this world (Satan) for he has blinded them into believing obtaining money and luxury is the way to go. It matters not how they obtain it or how many lives they wreck or destroy to obtain their gain. Close friends and even family are not exempt from their rabid greed. The evil one has blinded this world into thinking only for themselves.

Ephesians 1:11**. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him (God) who works all things after the counsel of his own will.

Satan has blinded this evil world into believing the will of our God mentioned in this verse is the will for them personally and no one or anything else. To do what they want and desire and not what is pleasing to our Creator. What is pleasing to our creator is to fervently pray to Him, asking forgiveness for their wickedness and greed; while asking for the strength to turn away from the evils of this world and to continue to search the scripture (Bible Study). John 5:39** "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

These are the words of Christ Jesus referring to the Old Testament Scriptures which was the bible of his day. Yet, with the addition of the New Testament Scriptures we are afforded a more complete lesson and better understanding of what is pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

Hebrews 2:9-10**But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for when are all things, and by who are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain (Jesus) of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Jesus came to earth as a human. His suffering was necessary for identification with our suffering. For each descendant of Adam suffers unto death. Many suffer greatly, mentally as well as physical. Yet, when our Captain Jesus adopts us as his children, we find that our own suffering finds relief even now. When we initially ask Father God for forgiveness of our sins, the adoption process begins and grows with the splendor and beauty of the lilies of the field. However, as the lily fades and dies, we have the hope of soon forever growing with splendor and beauty with our wonderful family of God in the new heaven and earth. Hallelujah!

As the world turns on its axis, humanity turns more and more toward apathy (without feeling). Yet if we draw nigh to our creator, He will draw nigh to you. (James 4:7-8) **When we draw nigh, the spirit of life smothered with kindness lubricates our mind and becomes the oil for the engine of life!

If you have not yet believed Jesus is the son of God and He can and will rescue you from the prison of this wicked world. Believe that our Creator says all souls are mine and the soul that sins shall die for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Ezekiel 18:4 & Romans 6:23)
