Taste Life

Psalm 119:103-4 ** How sweet are YOUR words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  Through YOUR precepts (laws) I understand (get understanding); therefore I hate every false way.

When we trust in our awesome creator, meditate and talk with regularity in prayer, it is so very sweet. The Lord not only listens but in loving kindness gives those that love HIM even more understanding than teachers. Many teachers spend more time on teaching church covenants and other rules made by man, than teaching and preaching the true words of the only Church of God (established on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem).  Pentecost denotes the fiftieth day after the Passover and is a High Day Feast commanded and kept by the Messiah, Jesus Christ, HIS disciples and the entire congregations of the first Church of God. The Greek word pentekostos (pent-a-cost-toes) means Passover and is commanded to be kept in Deuteronomy 16:9-11, Exodus 23:16, Acts 20:16, 1 Corinthians 16:8 and other biblical references.

It makes my heart sad to hear churches and members of their congregations say they walk with the Lord and follow in HIS footsteps but are disobedient in not keeping his precepts, HIS rules, and HIS commandments. The real taste of life will be to sit at HIS table in the New Jerusalem to feast with the sweetness and goodness everlasting.  Most of mankind continues to drink of the cup of demons instead of the cup of the Lord. The Apostle Paul reminded us we cannot partake of the Lord’s Table and the table of demons (1 Corinthians 10:21).  Many churches teach and celebrate what they think is a last wild fling with demon rum and reveling in a festival preceding Ash Wednesday/Lent called Madi Gras or Carnival (Latin for farewell to meat). Ash Wednesday begins a man made 40 day ritual (excluding Sundays) of reflection and penitence which is regret for wrongdoing/sin. However, reflection and regret is not true repentance whereby we must personally plead to the Lord in humble submission asking HIM to wash away wickedness with the holy blood of Jesus Christ. By denying eating of expensive meat, the poor will have opportunity to give more money to the church on Sundays. This ritual began when the church returned to worshipping the pagan sun god on Sunday instead of the commanded Seventh Day Sabbath beginning in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:2-3).

James 1:25 ** But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

The perfect law of liberty and doer of the work is doing all of the Ten Commandments commanded by God. This gives mankind the liberty to be free from sin and truly follow the Good Shepherd Jesus Christ along the narrow road leading into the very soon coming Kingdom which will have the freedom of sin free Eden.  James 2:17-26 reveals that faith without dedicated action does not lead to salvation but instead to death. The Apostle Paul agreed fully on this subject in Ephesians 2:8-10 telling the Church of God in Ephesus we are saved by grace through faith which is a gift of God and not of boastful works. Verse 10, says “For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we should walk in them”. ** By following in the footsteps of Christ Jesus as HE walked, we turn from this sinful world to do good works as did the Messiah.  Without His guidance by carrying HIS cross in obedience we honor HIM by doing good works in keeping the laws, precepts and all commandments of our Lord God Almighty.  We then obtain the sweet taste of life everlasting which is sweeter than honey to those that love our Lord by keeping his commandments. Taste the sweet life of the coming Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. Taste life now before it is too late except to taste the promise of death along with the promise of a second death in Gei-Hin-nom (fires of hell, Matthew 5:22).

Even as prisoners locked away from the outside world, we still have the opportunity to become a straight line in this crooked world. We have the opportunity to taste and see that the Lord is good. The Apostle Paul explained to the newly established Church of God in Philippi, saying, “For it is God who works in you both to will and do for HIS good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among who you shine as lights in the world”.  (Philippians 2:13-15).

When we become straight, blameless and harmless children of God we will inherit the riches of the coming Kingdom. We do not have to continue living in a morally bent and spiritually crooked world filled with the darkness of Satan’s miserable world. To overcome this darkness, we must walk and shine with the light of the Messiah, Y’shua Christ Jesus. We shine by showing our love in keeping all commandments ordered by God. We shine in a crooked and perverse world for we walk in the light and taste life pleasing to our Lord.  The gospel of Luke recorded a parable of the Messiah, explaining a certain man (God) who gave a feast but nobody came, always making excuses. Then the Master said to the servant, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.  For I say to you that that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper” (Luke 14:23-24). ** Open your heart and taste the feast the Lord has prepared with the forever light of riches, splendor, joy, peace and health this crooked world seeks but will only find the darkness of death.  Shalom translates as peace, tranquility, safety, well-being, health and comfort!  Shalom until we meet again!
