The Good Shepherd 4

Psalm 23:4 **.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will FEAR no evil; for YOU are with me; YOUR rod and YOUR staff, they comfort me.

In the beginning, our Lord walked daily in the beautiful Garden of Eden with Adam (meaning helper) from the dust of the ground. Our Creator breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and he became a living being (Genesis 2:7). Our Lord’s helper functioned and served in subduing, ruling and preserving the garden. Our Lord then saw the need for His son to have an earthly companion to become fruitful and multiply within the realm of animals. Eve was then created from Adam’s rib as he slept. The Lord then united them to become one flesh in marriage to produce more sons and daughters for the joyful harmonious family of God (Genesis 2:24).

The joyful harmonious family of God was intended to live and last forever. Harmony failed miserably when another God of greed, hate and deceit entered the Holy Garden. Satan desired to steal the Kingdom of our Creator by turning mankind to worship Him. To this very day, he devises ways for man to worship other gods under his control. However, our compassionate Creator continues to search for those with clean hands and a pure heart to stand within His holy place by not lifting up his soul to idols as the world now does. Our Lord continues to stand at the door of mankind’s hearts so He can enter and reclaim the lost sheep that have drifted away into the shadow of death.

Job 10:21-22 ** “Before I go to the place from which I shall not return, to the land of darkness and the shadow of death, a land as dark as darkness itself, as the shadow of death, without any order, where even the light is like darkness”.    ** Because of disobedience to our Holy Father, the penalty is death everlasting for those that do not return to the gracious mercy our God offers. Even our wickedness is washed clean in our inward parts with the blood of His Holy Lamb, His son, the Messiah, Y’shua Christ Jesus. The lambs, the lost children of our lord who turn back to the narrow sheep path have the hope of life forever.  The Spirit of our Lord will carefully guide His flock home away from low shadowy places of death into the high road of life.  This is accomplished with belief, trust, faith and willingness to obediently follow our Good Shepherd wherever he leads.  As temporary sojourners on this wicked world we are led into a “Kingdom not of this world”. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:32).

As we follow the righteous path of the Good Shepherd, what have we to fear? The Master bestows His peace within the minds of His flock which is tranquil and quiet. The quiet is untroubled by conflict, agitation or commotion. The flock is devoid of violence or forces of evil. Just as He gave the gift of life to Adam and Eve in the Garden before the fall, the offer is open to all those that keep the rules of the Kingdom. The doorway to the Kingdom remains open for those that follow the laws of love, peace and harmony, the spoken and written Commandments of our Lord. For those outside the flock, evil persists for there is constant fright, alarm, dread, panic and danger. There is general anxiety, unreasoning and overmastering hysterical mental as well as physical pain with weakness of mind. When we close and keep the door locked to our Lord, this becomes the disasters of this present age. **1 John 4:18-19 **. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love HIM because HE first loved us.

                                                                FOR YOU ARE WITH ME

The law of love should be the law of your life. Our God constantly unfolds His blessings and mercy. He unfolds His loving kindness with an abundance of love for His flock. When His flock constantly talks to him in prayer and study His worlds of love (Bible), we live. Each time I walk around a nearby lake, I constantly talk to my Creator God. I thank Him even for giving me legs to walk to enjoy the beauty of the fields of golden and purple flowers unfolding as birds sing sweetly in the trees. I glory in His rising sun as it glistens across the peaceful waters. I thank Him even for allowing me to exercise this old temple body He has given me. I praise and witness the beauty of His awesome creation teaming with life.

Genesis 15:1 ** “…”Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceeding great reward”. ** The Lord is our shepherd and he will shield, protect, and lead you to green pastures of love and peace. He loves you so much He gives his powerful love of “Agape” which is a love beyond the present reach of mankind. This is the love of giving the life of His Holy son, Y’shua Christ Jesus as the Passover Lamb to give life once and forever in atonement of sin for those that love Him and keep His laws of love. The Lord is your keeper (protector); the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul…. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forever more. (Psalm 121:5-8)

YOUR ROD AND YOUR STAFF, THEY COMFORT ME

The awesome power of God is revealed as God instructed Moses in Exodus 4:20 to take the rod of God in his hand to perform miraculous signs. Moses returned to Egypt with the rod of God to deliver the children of Israel from bondage. Again, in Exodus 17:6, God instructed Moses to strike the rock so the thirsty children would have water to drink. The rod became a stream of water for life. It is the scepter of our Lord which allows us to rule our destiny when we wield it wisely. Without this rod of life to comfort our necessities, to deliver us from harm and to grasp the everlasting life that awaits those that return to our God with clean hands and a pure heart by  turning away from the many gods of this age. These are gods of greed, hate and deceit. The rod of the spirit of the Lord will make you obediently wise with great power to resist the adversary, the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Repent, believe, and follow the Good Shepherd along the narrow path into the coming Kingdom!
