Valley of Peace

Revelation 22:1-3**.And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of the street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore 12 fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curses, but the Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

The water from the pure river of life is in the upcoming new world and the water of life spoken by Christ Jesus as He reached out to people the Jews hated. The Messiah, Y’shua Christ Jesus reached out to a Samaritan woman who had been married 5 times and now lived with a man who was not her husband (John 4:18).  Even in this age, this woman would be despised and hated by most people. Yet, our Lord Jesus, fathered by the Holy Spirit of Father God, pleased His Holy Father by giving a helping hand by sharing His wisdom. He preached that all people of the world have an opportunity to have the gift of life as His adopted children of all nations who believe and follow the rules of God.  Christ Jesus remained for 2 days as a guest with the Samaritans and many believed, saying in verse 42; to the woman who drew water from Jacob’s well, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

The Prophet Joel spoke the word of our Lord hundreds of years before our Lord repeated the words to John who documented that Y’shua, Christ Jesus was truly the Messiah and the Savior of the world. Christ was proven again and again by His numerous Messianic miracles that could only come from our Creator God.  The Prophet Joel stated in verse 3:20, saying “Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem through all generations”. In verse 18 c Joel remarks, “A fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord, and water the Valley of Shit’tim It should be noted that one of my student’s in prison brought the word ‘Shit’tim’ to my attention in one of his papers. It is a Hebrew word used more than 30 times in the Bible. Moses was instructed to use this hard and heavy wood to build the Ark of the Covenant and fittings for the Tabernacle. Modern English Bible translations use the word ‘acacias’.  The Valley of Shit’tim is the valley just east of the Jordan where the Children of Israel staged with Joshua and Caleb to enter the Promised Land. The millions that left Egypt and those over age 20 all perished for disobedience. The only one saved, because he wholly followed the Lord was Caleb (Deut 1:36). Only children under age 20 who had not yet learned to do evil were allowed to enter the Lord’s symbolic land of peace (Canaan). Joshua who was about 40 years old was also obedient and with his years of training with Moses allowed to lead the children across the river Jordan which is symbolic of the soon coming ‘Promised Land’ called heaven. Joshua obediently followed the guidance of the Lord for about 70 more years until his death at 110 years old. (Joshua 24:29).

Mankind is still under the curse of death from our Creator God since being cast out of the Garden of Eden for disobedience. In the beginning paragraph of this message, verse three tells us this curse will be removed when our Messiah, Y’shua Christ Jesus returns to claim His throne in Jerusalem. Our Lord will destroy all disobedient people who hate Him by not keeping His laws. Those obedient children of the entire world will no longer die, hunger, thirst, pain mentally or physically. Mankind will have just joy forever. And the peace of our Lord which is beyond understanding will rest on His faithful servants who humble themselves and become as the ‘little children of Israel’ forever.

Symbolically, Shit’tim is the ‘Valley of Peace’ for obedient children of our Creator God, deceased or alive who are being staged to enter into the peace of our Lord. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death (Isaiah 57:2, NIV). “…Behold, I will extend peace to her (Jerusalem) like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; on her sides shall you be carried, and be dandled on her knees. As one, whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 66:12-13).

The following words spoken by our Messiah, Y’shua Christ Jesus reveals the few obedient children of Israel staged in Shit’tim, the ‘Valley of Peace’ is symbolic of the world today: “...Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life (eternal), and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:14).  In the next verse he reminds us to beware of “false prophets’, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Open your eyes look about and see His words speak the truth. Become innocent and humble as a little child, repent!  Seek the Lord now while He can be found! Very soon it will be too late!
