Dead Are Raised

Matthew 11:5 ** “The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them”.

These are the words of the Messiah who has come. His coming has been repeated by prophets of the Torah, Nevi’im and K’tuvim (Three parts of God’s words, the ‘Tanakh’, Old Testament). The New Testament writers repeatedly cite the “Tanakh’, rendering the words as ‘scripture’ or ‘it is written’.  This is so those that read and study will understand this is the authoritative Word of our Creator to mankind (Matthew, Chapter 4). Sadly, this fast paced generation has no time to read, study, understand or even consider following the rules (laws) of our Creator. The Tempter (Satan) constantly devises methods to ignore the rules, distort the rules or follow the traditions of man. Even most of the Jewish faith cannot fathom that the three parts of the ‘Tanakh’ are symbolic of the three parts of the one and only God, The Father, The Son (Messiah Christ Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit records each thought and action of every living soul even before birth.

The ‘Word’ our Creation God came to earth in the flesh (John 1:14) to simplify and preach His Gospel (Good News Kingdom of God) and to perform one miracle after another. During the ministry of the Messiah, John the Baptist (His ministry announced the arrival of the Lord’s glory prophesied by Isaiah 40:3-5) languished for months in prison after preaching a baptism of repentance for sin and criticizing the roman ruler Herod for his sins and evils of his family.

The ministry of Christ was not what John the Baptist and other religious leaders of the era expected from God. Jesus was bringing the Messianic kingdom into a genteel loving way of life, not the expected violent overthrow of evil, lawlessness and hate such as occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah. John and many others did not understand the love and patience of our Creator God  who would wait about 2,000 more years (this day and age) to have the gospel preached to the entire world.  The violent overthrow of evil such as occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah will take place on schedule with the timing desired by our Lord. Time as mankind knows it will then end!

The ‘word’ of Jesus (Savior) repeated a portion of His word from the Prophet Isaiah 35:4-6, saying, “…Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance. With the recompense (repayment of good as well as evil) of God; He will come and save you (if you love Him by keeping His commandments). Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. ** The latter part of Isaiah 35 depicts the everlasting gladness and joy of those ransomed by the blood of the Passover Lamb of God (Christ Jesus), and the return of the redeemed (the dead brought to eternal life) which will occur with the return of the Messiah. Isaiah tells us only the redeemed will walk on the highway leading to Zion. The highway of the Lord leading to New Jerusalem will be called the ‘Way of Holiness’.

Revelation 21:3-4 ** And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

The first tabernacle of God was a tent sanctuary used by the Israelites during the 40 exodus years in the wilderness. The riches of our Creator, who built the heavens and earth in six days, humbled Himself by living in a tent until King Solomon built a magnificent temple. Upon the dedication of the tabernacle (Feast of Tabernacles – 2 Chronicles 5:3), a cloud of the Lord’s glory filled the temple (2 Chronicles 7:1-10). However, chapter 21 of Revelation tells us the revelation of the Messiah, Yeshua Christ Jesus, and the entire city of Jerusalem will be constructed of pure gold, like glass with the foundation of the walls adorned with twelve types of precious stones including emeralds and sapphires. The entire city will be the temple of the Lord and the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. But there shall by no means enter in it anything that defiles, or causes and abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Messiah, Yeshua Christ Jesus is the Lamb who “PAID IN FULL’ the price for your eternal life with His own precious blood. Will you receive him or reject him? “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)
