Enduring Faith

Matthew 15:28 ** Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Great faith does not suggest or infer that the non-Jewish woman had a huge amount of faith but it was an unshakable mind that trusted in the power of the Lord. Against all odds, her strength and unshakable mindset was not even for her but for another, her daughter. The child’s mind was being torn apart by a demon of the evil one that continues to sway the world since Eden with torment before it is time.

Even when the Disciples of Christ urged Him to send her away because of her continual begging for healing, Jesus desired to prove a point. The point he wished to make was to show that healing and salvation was first for His own people, the Jew. His purpose to come to earth become dramatically clear in Isaiah 53:6 which says, “All we (Children of Israel) like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him (The Messiah, Yeshua Christ Jesus) the iniquity (sins) of us all. How awesome and loving is our Creator who used His own perfect and holy flesh and blood as a Passover Lamb without blemish to atone for the wickedness of first the Jew but then reaching out to all mankind. The perfect love of our Heavenly Father sprinkled His own unblemished blood once and for all for all mankind.

After rejection by His own people who witnessed uncountable miracles of healing the lame, the blind, the incurable leper outcasts and restoring life to the dead, Christ and disciples traveled to a non-Jewish region. This was the pagan region of Tyre and Sidon (believed to be former Sodom and Gomorra region).  This is a region of many pagan Canaanites.  However, this distressed Canaanite woman called upon the name of the Lord saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, son of David! My daughter is severely demon possessed”.

This goyim (non-Jewish) woman who was utterly helpless in her miserable state sets the perfect example to mankind. Romans 5:1-12 tells us of the great love of our Creator God, by telling mankind that while we were still sinners, the blood of Christ Jesus will come at the right time to give us peace and joy by faith. By faith we have been made right in the sight of God because of what Christ Jesus has done for us. By faith we can be saved from God’s judgment for we have been restored to friendship with God by the death and blood of His only son born of woman (John 3:16). The perfect Lamb of God gives us a loving friendship, a free gift of eternal peace and joy. This gift of God’s blood washes away our sins which before made us enemies and locked us out of the Kingdom of God.

This healing of a non-Jewish woman with the faith that began with Abraham who never wavered in believing God’s promise. As the faith of Abraham grew stronger it brought glory to our God. Abraham was surely convinced that our Creator God was able to do anything He promised to do. God declared Abraham righteous (obedience to God). The obedience of Abraham’s faith was tested even when he attempted to sacrifice his own son Isaac. In Genesis 22:12, the angel of the Lord said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”  ** It was not yet time for the salvation plan of our Lord to reach out to first the Jew but to provide salvation to the entire pagan world as Christ Jesus reached out to this Canaan woman who begged Him with the faith of Abraham.

It should be noted that the entire world in the beginning when our Lord’s creation were cast out of Eden for disobedience, all mankind became goyim meaning gentile, nation, pagan, heathen and non-Jew. Our eternal God of creation did not establish His chosen people until Abraham kept the faith and obedience by leaving the pagan land of Ur (present day Iraq). In Genesis, chapter 17, God made a covenant (promise, agreement) when Abram was ninety-nine years old. In verse one, the Lord said, “I am almighty God, walk before ME and be blameless, and I will make MY covenant between ME and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, As for ME, behold, MY covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you and kings shall come from you.”  In verse 11 God informed Abraham his part of the bargain by saying, “And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between ME and you.”    **    This clearly identifies the beginning of God’s chosen people by sealing it with the blood of circumcises.

Much of the male population of the world currently is circumcised since it has been determined as a sanitary measure like the sanitary laws concerning food in the book of Leviticus. Many medical doctors are rediscovering the benefits of our Creator’s laws concerning healthy foods listed in the Bible. Also, much of the credit for this written message goes to the study of our God’s word at a state prison in Florida. Many of the students within the prison often teach the minister who will listen to their knowledge in Bible Study.  May the peace of our Lord, which is beyond understanding reach out and touch the hearts of all faiths that believe and abide in the faith of Yeshua, the Messiah Christ Jesus, now and forever!
