Proverbs 3:5-6 ** Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Many in this world that believe they are righteous fail to realize they are walking not nearer to the Lord but are displeasing Him by their thoughts and actions of avarice (greed). Our television sets bombard our minds into thinking we need to keep up with the Joneses with a strong desire for more worldly goods of pleasure. Our worldly culture suffers from having separated knowledge from ethics (blameless righteous and Godly behavior). Violence and ill-gotten gains constantly drive mankind into breaking the 10th an 8th Commandment. Thereby, the wide road leads this world to eternal death spoken by Christ Jesus (Matthew 7:13) and the narrow road which few will find or follow.

Christ Jesus preached, taught and simplified the 39 books of the Tanakh (Old Testament), He simplified the forever and Royal Law of our creator (10 Commandments- Exodus 20), by dividing the commandments into 2 parts. The first five commandments require His children to Love the Lord with all your heart. The last five require His sons and daughters to love your neighbor as yourself.

The world constantly desires and covets what others have, breaking His Royal Law (Ten Commandments). By desires and coveting worldly things, leads to breaking all the other commandments. Specifically, it immediately leads to breaking the 8th Law (You shall not steal), Stealing continues escalating, which is the Devil’s method to make the wide road to destruction more appealing. The world tells us that if you want it, take it. The theft of a candy bar or even 200 million dollars deprives someone else of the fruit of their labor. However, our Lord God tells us that if we want it, earn it. Our God truly wishes us to practice the wisdom of giving, not receiving, for the soul that sins shall die. (Ezekiel 18:4-7). Romans 6:23 tell us, “For the wages (payment for disobedience) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.  This free gift of eternal life is only for the children of God that show their love by obedience in keeping His commandments of love, not hate as this evil world beckons, and even demands.

2 Chronicles 1:7….** On that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask! What shall I give you?”  In verse 10, Solomon requested, Now give me wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?” Then God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life --- but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you King --- wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; ………..”

The average man would ask for the three typical ‘genie in a bottle wishes’ of mankind; money, power and lavish stuff of the world that people think means success (big house, fine cars, etc.). Because Solomon asked for wisdom to do the pleasing work of the Lord, he was granted untold riches and honor that no ruler before or after shall have the like. Like Solomon, the righteous that have been washed in the blood of Lamb of God (Christ) are free to petition our God for the desires of their heart as long as it is not of a selfish motivation.  In Matthew 7:7 Jesus declares, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you”.     Many people believe they can manipulate and maneuver around God to get what they want. Jesus simply said ask and trust. Matthew recorded the golden rule of Christ in verse 12, saying, “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”.  While this message covers the last five of God’s Ten Commandments, many preachers and teachers of the law distort the message by saying, “Don’t do to others what you don’t want them to do to you.”  Christ went beyond this condensed version by explaining that we should take the initiative in providing for others what we ourselves would like to have.

When we read the last four of the Ten Commandments, we find most of the world has deleted the word ‘not’. In the fifth commandment, the world has added the word ‘not’, to say, “You shall ‘not’ honor your father and mother”.  ** These commandments are given to enable His humble people of our one and only God to show the world we are His children and are set aside to be holy, righteous and redeemed from the slavery swayed by the devil. We have been reborn to set an example of freedom from the bondage of sin.

As our Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, the Lord will also freely give to His children of faith who ask (James 1-5). Keep asking as the Apostle Paul asked for you in Ephesians 1:17, NIV, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.”    ** God became man while remaining true God (Immanuel, God with us – Isaiah 7:14). The name of Jesus means Savior, because he came to save His people from their sins.  He died our death as God’s son and holy lamb, overcoming death, Satan and all evil. He has returned to the throne of God to sit at His right hand. The free gift of eternal life for believers and doers is abundant and rich. His Kingdom is everlasting with love and peace. Fulfillment awaits His second coming!       Will you be there!
