Born To Live

Luke 2:4-7** Joseph also sent up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea,, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of ;the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger (feeding bin for livestock), because there was no room for them in the inn.

So the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, with all His riches, the creator of all the worlds of the universe, humbled Himself to give forever life to mankind. Christ began to pay the price for all the wickedness and sins of Adam and Eve who turned to worship the Devil and his kingdom. From the moment of the Christ’s birth that was fathered by the Holy Spirit of our one and only God, the God/man humbly gave up all the trappings of wealth to pay the price for redemption. He began immediately to carry mankind’s sorrow and humiliation.

The most modest of births for the most exalted figure ever born, demonstrates that the true value of life is found in life itself, not in the trimmings and trappings that frequently comes with those born with a silver spoon. Our culture fails to perceive the sanctity of life and the method often used by our God’s wisdom in selection of lowborn and obscure people such as the heritage and legacy of Christ in lowborn sheepherder King David.

Philippians 2:5-8 NLT **. Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. Though He was God, he did not demand and cling to His rights as God. He made himself nothing (He laid aside his mighty power and glory), He took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form He obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross (to wash away our sins with the perfect lamb to give a perfect forever life to His children).

To lay down His life for you and me is the greatest gift of all for Christmas and that is why He instructs mankind to celebrate His death as the Passover Lamb of God. The entire bible mentions only two birthday celebrations. In each case the birthday festivities result in death.  Pharaoh gave a feast and chopped off the head of his chief baker in Genesis 40:7. In Mark 6:21 and Matthew 14:6, Herod the Roman Tetrarch gave a royal feast on his birthday and chopped off the head of John the Baptist as a promised gift to an entertaining dancer. The willingness of Christ to come to earth in the likeness of a human is the exact opposite of the human drive to dominate. It is the exact opposite of mankind that attaches ultimate value to wealth, glamour, power and prestige. If we truly wish to become forever children of Father God and creator of all the worlds, we must become as the saying goes “like father, like son”.

But who will listen? But who will truly turn and listen to His words of life, the Bible? That is why we truly need the Messiah to return to earth in all His glory to restore law and order so we can return to the heavenly paradise on earth that was removed because of disobedience. That paradise is the Garden of Eden. There, the glory of the Lord will forever shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death. There, He will forever guide our feet into the path of peace, joy, health and harmony.

While we patiently wait on the arrival of the exalted Lord, we must follow His instruction spoken by the Prophet Micah in verse 6:8, “He has shown you, O man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God”? **John 8:32 speaks, “The truth shall make you free”.  Only humble repentance of our sins and constantly asking the Holy Spirit to guide and help in following God’s Word will make you free. Entry into the Kingdom of God is only possible by obedience to God’s Word!  Take the risk with something that is truly worthwhile! He is the truly anointed one, Jesus Christ, the Messiah! Take the risk of forever life now! Humble yourself, repent and have life forever!
