The Young Goat

    Home Back

2 Corinthians 11:13-15: NKJV: For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Satan masquerades as an angel of light. Satan and his ministers continue to deceive the entire world (Revelation 12:9). The world is deceived into perverting everything good into evil so people no longer trust and obey God. Each year in ancient Israel; two goats were presented to the priests (Leviticus 16:4-5. The goats were for the high priest, representing God, for the commanded Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-32).One kid goat was selected by God to be killed, representing the holy blood of Christ. The other goat representing Satan was released and allowed to escape into the wilderness (Azazel goat). The blood of the killed goat was symbolic of Christ. The escaped goat from death was called the scapegoat. The correct term for scapegoat is Azazel which has a meaning of power without God and unclean. Both powers are very much alive to this day.

Leviticus 16:22: The goat (unclean without life giving blood of God) shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land and he shall release the goat in the wilderness. * Satan is unclean and the iniquities of mankind will remain on his head forever. Symbolically, the transfer of iniquities is laid on the head of Azazel, the devil, with the lay on of both hands from Aaron, the high priest (Leviticus 16:21). Satan, the devil will be prevented from influencing mankind at the return of Messiah because Satan will be chained for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-2). Mankind can then be completely at one with God (at one = atone).

Only with the blood of Christ can we become at one with God.

Hebrews 10:4-5: For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sin. Therefore, when HE (Christ) came into the world, HE said: Psalm 40:6-8: Sacrifice and offering YOU did not desire; MY ears YOU have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering YOU did not require, then I said: Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me, I delight to do YOUR will, O my god, and YOUR law is within my heart. * With the new covenant, the eternal high priest is Jesus Christ and with the power of the Holy Spirit. The elect, which are few in number, receive the Holy Spirit of God with the lay on of hands after baptism * Hebrews 10:15-16: But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He (the Spirit) had said before: This is the covenant I will make with them after those days (after return of Christ), says the Lord. I will put MY laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them, then HE adds: Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more (Jeremiah 31:33-34). In this age, the elect few in number of God draw near to the Eternal by fasting on the Holy Day of Atonement.

Exodus 34:28: So he (Moses) was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank waters. And HE (God) wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. In the new covenant Acts 9:9, Saul (Paul) also fasted without food or water. The perfect way to fast is documented in Deuteronomy 9:18 and Esther 4:16. The perfect law of God permits some to be exempt from fasting such as babies; diabetics may require adjustment in meditation or drink sweet juice. Food and drink is permitted for other reasons. Anything that is detrimental to the body such as lack of medication which will be ejected unless a small amount of food or drink is first consumed. If you are in doubt, consult with your spiritual advisor.

Shedding of the young goat’s blood represented the coming of our Messiah, Christ Jesus. The Messiah shed blood to cleanse mankind of sin. When resurrected and born again as Son of Man, firstfruits, Christ Jesus assured mankind that HE was the priest of God Most High (Genesis 14:18, Psalm 110:4, a priest forever: Hebrews 7:17).  * Hebrews 7:18-19: For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and profitableness (sacrificing animals), for the law made nothing perfect; on ;the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope (Holy Lamb sacrificed, the Messiah, Christ Jesus), though which we draw near to God.

The annulling of the former commandment for animal sacrifice was the Law of Moses (Luke 2:22-24) which made nothing perfect. This law was placed beside the Ark of the Covenant (Deuteronomy 31:26). The Royal Law of God (James 2:8, Ten Commandments) written by the finger of God in stone (Exodus 31:18), was placed in the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 40:20).

Psalm 19:7: The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul (into life); the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. * Romans 7:12: Therefore, the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. * First Corinthians 1:26-27: For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty… Verse 29: That no flesh should glory in HIS presence. Verse 31: That, as it is written: He who glories, let him glory in the Lord (Jeremiah 9:23-24). * We know that life is hard because we live and work in a fallen and twisted world. Each day we must continue to struggle against the Azazel who is Satan. Satan is the one without God and unclean.

Luke 21:36: Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Be blessed until we meet again.
