Be Perfect

Matthew 5:48: NKJV: Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

The character of our Creator is perfection in all respects. His children of the entire world are not only imperfect but adversaries. Mankind joined the ranks of Satan, the devil in the Garden of Eden. That is why mankind has need of the perfect Passover Lamb. That perfect Lamb is Messiah, the Jesus Christ. Christ trained his disciples to try to be perfect as Kingdom subjects. This is a quality of righteousness that surpassed the religious leaders then and now. * Matthew 5:20: For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will be no means enter the kingdom of heaven.  * The teachers then and now seek to establish their own righteousness and not the righteousness of God bestowed on father Abraham (read Romans 10:3)

Genesis 15:6: And he (then Abram) believed in the Lord, and HE accounted it to him for righteousness. Verse 1: After these things the Word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying: Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, your exceeding great reward.  * Psalm 32:1-2: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Hebrews: 11:8-10: By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. * When Isaac was a young man, our Lord God tested the faith of Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice Isaac as an offering. Then when Abraham placed Isaac upon the altar and took the knife to slay his son, the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said: Genesis 22:11-12: Abraham, Abraham! So he said: Here I am. And HE said: Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from ME   *. This test pointed to the firstborn and only son of God; the Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ.  The ram the Lord provided, further pointed to God who sacrificed His only son for the sacrifice for the entire world. Abraham and his seed were exalted before God as a faithful worker.

James 2:20-22: But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says: Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God. * James 1:22: But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Proverbs 14:34: Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (disgrace) to any people.  * The entire bible is a history of one. From Adam begins one God, one people. Unlike Adam, Abraham obeyed God. * Romans 9:4-5: Who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. * In verse three, the apostle wished he could be a curse in the flesh for the disobedient descendants of Abraham. The disobedience, the unfaithfulness of the Israelites ended the first marriage of God with the death of Christ, the Lamb at Passover in 31 A.D.

Jeremiah 3:14: Return, O backsliding children, says the Lord; for I am married to you, I will take you one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. * The next marriage of our Lord to the congregation, the church was expanded to the gentiles who have been backsliding and wicked children since the death of Christ Jesus. This age of sin is a reproach to all nations and will soon end with the return of Messiah. * 2 Timothy 3:13-14: But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them (read 2 Timothy 3:1-5). These nineteen sins are backsliding unfaithfulness which leads to eternal death.

The faith, trust and belief are synonyms or same meaning displayed by father Abraham. These synonyms combined with good works. * 1 John 3:8-10: He who sins is of the evil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for HIS seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest (obvious). Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.* Righteousness is a doer of the commandments of God. * Psalm 119:172: My tongue shall speak of YOUR Word, for all YOUR commandments are righteousness.

Matthew 10:34: Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword (Luke 12:49). * Strive to be perfect as HE is perfect. Perhaps HE will preserve your soul and you will avoid the sword. Perhaps the Kingdom of righteousness will become a free gift at resurrection.

Be blessed until we meet again.
